The heart of SBC has always been about connecting the South Bay and Los Angeles communities through contemporary art, with innovative projects and high quality exhibitions reflecting our diverse culture and today’s issues. It is our wish to further that vision in developing new, relevant art that integrates both local community interaction and international participation. We are grateful for the help and support throughout the years of our journey and hope you will join us.
SBC has invited artists throughout Los Angeles, to submit their most recent art in all media to a selection process. This process, involves two curators, Fatemeh Burnes and Peter Frank, who have selected the art-work they agree makes a strong impact and best represents current ideas and trends in Contemporary Art. All media is accepted as entries: drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, video, digital, installation, conceptual, performance and more.
The Exhibition will run from March 4 – April 16, 2017, with a reception for the artists on March 4, 3:00 – 6:00 pm. Awards will be presented during the reception. This will be the first exhibition in the new permanent home of South Bay Contemporary. The gallery space is located just North of Inglewood, CA.
